Our league has a bunch of fancy wrinkles that, for better or worse, requires tracking things outside of our service provider’s software. Below are some links to useful tools. Links may occasionally come and go from this page as they gain/lose relevance.
Here are the upcoming league dates for the 2018 season:
February 1 – Minor League Draft Begins
Febrary 1 – Player Pool Closed
March 10 – Arbitration Day
March 17 – Cut Day
March 24 – Auction Draft Day
The shared Budget Chart document shows you how much each team has in auction budget past, present, and future. The year highlighted in green is the most current/upcoming season. Also, the document has notations for each transaction that involved auction budget changing hands.
The FanGraphs auction calculator is what we use to apply raises to prospects that have graduated to arbitration. You’ll want to use this tool to keep tabs on your prospects and estimate what their raises might be for budgeting purposes. Keep in mind, projections change for various reasons, so it’s worth it to check in occasionally. You could also theoretically use this tool to help develop prices for free agents at auction.
This is the draft board for our 2018 minor league draft. Note the “Player Eligibility” tab. There you will find designations for certain players (international free agents, etc.) about whether they will enter the league via the auction draft or minor league draft.
